One Shot Dungeon was my first ever games jam. It was a while ago as of writing this so I struggle to remember the exact theme, but I believe it was something that limited us to one screen.
I was in an early phase in my learning at the time I helped make this, and honestly I struggled to keep up. I had some really great people to help me through that, and I'm so glad I managed.
I spent most of the jam battling with trigonomotery and bouncing projectiles. At the time I didnt know of a few functions that wouldve made my life SO much easier, but so it goes. It certainly gave me a brush up on my geometry from A level.
I got to experience the raw enthusiasm and creativity of my team, and I developed a new appreciation for the value of pixel animation in an indie developers skillset. It was a cathartic experience, and a fond memory.
We even ended up winning!
